By default, your posts page (also known as the index page) is used for your homepage, and there's actually no need to change this because you can configure your homepage in the panel of the customizer. But should you want a separate page as your homepage, you can follow this guide.

First, you'll need to create two pages: One for your homepage (you can call it "Home" or something similar), and one for displaying your posts (you can call this one "Blog" or something similar). If you're not sure how to create pages in WordPress, please see the chapter on . These pages don't need to have any content in them.

Once your pages are set up, you'll need to navigate to Settings > Reading from your WordPress dashboard, then in the option that says "Your homepage displays", select "A static page".

You now need to set the "Homepage" to your newly created "Home" page and set the "Posts page" to your newly created "Blog" page. Once this is done, click on "Save Changes" at the bottom and your site will now display your custom homepage instead of the default index page.

Important Note: Now that you have a custom page set as your homepage, you'll need to edit the page settings for that page to configure the homepage. Using the customizer will have no effect! Don't worry, the options are the same
