When you purchase the theme, the download package will become available in your Themeforest account. Navigate to the page and you'll see it.
Click on the "Download" button, then choose "All files & documentation" to download the full package. This ZIP file will include the theme's ZIP file, bundled plugins, PSD files for Photoshop, and a link to this documentation. Extract the contents of this ZIP file to somewhere you can easily find them, such as your desktop.
Now that you have the files, you're ready to upload the theme. Log into your WordPress dashboard and click on Appearance > Themes. This will take you to the main Themes page. From here, click on "Add New Theme"
When you click on "Choose file", you'll be prompted to upload the theme's zip file. You can find this where you extracted your main download package contents, in the folder named "themes". The file is called aubrey.zip Select this file and click on "Install Now".
WordPress will now attempt to upload and extract the theme files. If everything was successful, you should see the following screen...
All that's left for now is to click on "Activate" to activate your new theme! Aubrey will work fine straight out of the box, but if you want to get even more functionality out of it, such as more customizer settings, post and page options, then it's highly recommended that you install the required and recommended plugins. Extract the contents of aubrey.zip (do NOT upload the zip file directly!) into the following directory /wp-content/themes/. Once the files have been transferred, log into your WordPress dashboard and you should see the theme when you visit Appearance > Themes.
Note: Be sure NOT to upload the file named, aubrey-child.zipas this is only a child theme. For more information on child themes, please see the chapter on .
Note: If you see a "Missing Stylesheet" error when installing the theme, don't panic! You likely uploaded the wrong zip file. There's a good article on this , including a solution.
Another way to install the theme is by using an FTP client. This is only recommended for advanced users and requires an FTP account, which you can set up in your web hosting panel. FTP clients such as or are available for free.
