Single Posts

This page covers all of the available options relating to singular posts. These are pages that show the entire contents of a post.

  • Visibility Settings - Use the following settings to toggle the visibility of some of the elements that appear on singular posts.

    • Display Post Tags? - A list of post tags are displayed at the bottom of singular posts. Use this setting to toggle them on or off.

    • Display Post Categories? - Post categories are displayed at the very top of singular posts, above the post title. Use this setting to toggle them on or off.

    • Display Related Posts? - A list of related posts (posts selected randomly but are in the same category) are displayed just before the comments section in singular posts. Use this setting to toggle them on or off.

  • Header Layout - Use this setting to set the default header layout for all singular posts. This setting can be overridden on individual posts.

    • Classic - This is the classic narrow layout that you see on older websites.

    • Wide - This is a more modern layout that supports styles for wide and full-width blocks.

    • Full Width - This uses your featured image as a full-width background.

    • Full Screen - Similar to the above but also takes up the whole height of the viewport.

    • Split - Image/Title - The header will be split between the featured image then the post title.

    • Split - Title/Image - The header will be split between the post title then the featured image.

  • Sidebar Position - Choose a default position for your sidebar to appear in, or disable it entirely. This setting can be overridden on individual posts.

  • Author Biography - The "Author Biography" area is found at the bottom of a singular post, just after the tags. This area will display the "Biographical Info" and "Social Media Profiles" that were set in the user's profile page for that author. To edit these, navigate to Users > Profile from your WordPress dashboard.

    • Display Author Biography? - Use this setting to enable or disable the author biography area.

    • Link to Author Archives? - Switching this on will allow visitors to click on the author's name to view all articles written by that author (author archive page).

  • Author Biography Layout Style - You can choose from three different layouts for displaying the author biography area.

    • Align Left - The author's avatar will appear on the left followed by the content on the right.

    • Align Center - Everything will be centred with the author's avatar displayed at the top. Mobile displays will default to this setting.

    • Align Right - The author's avatar will appear on the right and the content on the left. Useful for RTL displays.

  • Author Biography Intro Text - This optional text will appear just above the author's name. Only plain text is allowed.

  • Featured Post Label Text - This text will appear at the top right of featured images of posts that have the "Sticky Post" option selected. This can be done in the post edit screen by checking the option named "Stick to the top of the blog". Only plain text is allowed.

  • "Read More" Text - This text is typically displayed at the end of excerpts on a blog listings page, usually where a "Big" post is displayed.
